The band (Empires in Orbit) had created a double album with a concept of, “Above and Below”. Each album sounded different enough, but to my eyes and ears, could share a twist on the same image. The band had the budget for one painting, so we had to decide on an image and concept that could be used twice. The theme of, “above and below”, is tough because there is so much territory that has already been explored. I wanted to try and present a unique take on this classic concept. A simple flip of the image with a different logo and title placement was the final decision for the two covers. I did not design the logo, but I did hand write the album titles.
