A withered trunk of an ancient tree grows from the back of a sea turtle. The roots twist around the gnarled surface of her ebony shell. She slowly raises her head and sets her gaze on the last brittle seed, whose percussive rattle marks the rhythm of each determined step. A parched land expands from the shores of the sea and life struggles as the desert consumes the horizon. The great migration gets longer every year to find green, fertile land.

This was a commission for a friend to commemorate the life and relationship with his late wife. Throughout the process of picking out the subject matter that would be included, my favorite part of creating an image is digging deep to find the narrative. He wanted an element to represent their shared love of music, and after sifting through their history together, finding out that they made each other mix tapes when they were first dating became the perfect solution.

This is my version of the Lamassu, which was an Assyrian protective deity, often depicted as having a human's head, a body of a bull or a lion, and bird's wings.

This painting was created for a screen print to celebrate the movies, The Holy Mountain and El Topo, by Alejandro Jodorowsky. Jodorowsky played the main role in both films.

Album cover for, “Paris Is Burning”, by Coral Blue. I was given the prompt to create a female figure looking into a mirror to see their reflection burning or to see a general “ugliness”.
